As many of you know, Nicolet was severely damaged in a flood last month.  The reunion ended up having some excess funds and the reunion committee decided to donate the funds to Nicolet.  The timing couldn't have been better.  $450 was donated to Nicolet on behalf of the Class of 1990.  Check out the Nicolet website for a thank you to our class:

The following is a letter from the school superintendant:

Dear Nicolet Community Member,

The July 22nd record storm covered 80% of the Nicolet High School campus
interior flooring with rain water runoff. It also ruined the gym floor,
electrical switching gear, phone system, air handling system, and boilers.
In addition to tremendous building loses, there has been substantial
damage to building contents, as well as office and classroom furniture
which will have to be replaced. The good news is that we have mobilized
an army of water restoration professionals and significant progress is
being made every day to ready the building for the September 1st opening.

It is absolutely critical that parents, students, faculty and staff
understand that the health and safety of everyone at Nicolet High School
is paramount. The District has contracted with an independent certified
building hygienist company to monitor air quality, cleaning, and
sanitizing of every square inch of the building and its’ contents. I have
been assured that Nicolet High School will be cleaner and healthier by
September 1st, than it was when the school opened in 1955.

Because the Nicolet campus is currently closed to everyone but the
restoration staff, Glen Hills Middle School, 2600 W. Mill Road, will be
the temporary repository for student parking permit applications (due
August 5th), all Recreation Department business, new student applications,
and student registration forms. Glen Hills will be open between the hours
of 7:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Monday through Thursday.
Please note that the date for student registration has been changed to
August 24th from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Prepaid registration has been
extended to Friday, August 20th.

Nicolet community members are asked to regularly refer to District’s
web-site at for important update announcements, to
view a list of frequently asked questions, and to see daily photos of our
restoration progress.

Many people have asked what they can do to help and our response is that
at this time, due to safety and security reasons, community members are
asked to please keep away from building. We will have up to 130
professional water damage restoration workers on the premises.

Thank you for your understanding and support of Nicolet High School.

Yours in education,
Dr. Rick Monroe
